Quarantine is now available to every organization: park a known-flaky test so its failures stop blocking your suite, and manage the rules from the dashboard, the CLI or your coding agent. This week also brings Playwright 1.63 support, much clearer timeout errors in analytics, and new billing measurements that reduces costs by ~10% for all organizations.
Major features & improvements
- Quarantine rules: Quarantine rules are enabled for all orgs. A rule matches on suite, test, project name or branch, with an optional expiry and a reason, and a failing quarantined test no longer blocks the suite run. Quarantined tests also run only once instead of burning your retry budget, so a test you already know is flaky doesn’t slow down every run. Available in the dashboard, cli and MCP server.
- Playwright 1.63 support: Run your suites on Playwright 1.63, including handling its new worker shutdown heartbeat so attempts no longer fail during a graceful shutdown.
- Modified billing measurements: Billable duration is now measured from the test’s own Playwright execution time plus its share of the run’s overhead, rather than wall-clock time. This reduces your costs by ~10%.
CLI version updates
Upgrade with npx endform@latest or your usual install method. The latest version this week is 0.79.x.
Version 0.77.x
- Worker-controlled live-test sessions:
endform live-testruns through the new execution engine, with the CLI supervising the session and reporting infrastructure failures instead of silently passing. - Quarantine in test output: Attempts covered by a quarantine rule are marked
[quarantined]in the run output without changing their reported outcome.
Version 0.78.x
endform quarantine: List, create and deactivate quarantine rules from the terminal, using the same API as the dashboard and MCP.- Cancellations reported as cancelled: Runs you cancel are classified as cancelled rather than failed in analytics.
Version 0.79.x
endform api-key create --name <name>: Create an API key without opening the dashboard. The key is printed on stdout so it can be piped straight into a secret store. Requires a logged-in user key with an admin role.endform connect github|vercel: Set up the GitHub and Vercel integrations from the CLI. It opens the install page and waits until your organization is connected.- Login without an interactive terminal:
endform loginnow saves a pending device code and prints the URL and code, thenendform login --resume-pendingfinishes the exchange. In a terminal, login still works in one step, and in CI both forms tell you to setENDFORM_API_KEYinstead. Login prompts, including organization selection, can also be cancelled with Ctrl-C. - Native Playwright reporters for merged output:
list, line, dotand custom reporters keep their native behavior and options when merging results, with quarantined tests marked and Endform annotations and diagnostic attachments restored before your own reporters run. - Quieter transient observer errors: A transient hiccup while connecting to the run observer is no longer reported as an error while retries remain.
